Speaking at a review meeting of the performance by Metropolitan Corporation, Masood ordered the phase-wise disposal of waste in Sargodha. She asked the officials concerned to focus on residential areas for sanitation during the initiative’s second phase. She also stressed on resolving the sewerage issues of the city.
During the meeting, Masood asked for recommendations on issuing tenders for permanent disposal of waste from the entrance routes of Sargodha as part of the project’s first phase. She also highlighted the need for enhancing the limited resources of the Metropolitan Corporation and adopting austerity measures.
Metropolitan Chief Officer Tariq Paroya said that the officials concerned collected 400 tons of garbage on a daily basis despite being understaffed and facing shortage of resources.
