Lahore: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Aamir Ahmad Khan on Sunday (January 29) directed the authorities to expedite work on the Samanabad Underpass project, news sources reported.

DG Amir visited the project site and asked the concerned authorities to utilise and deploy all resources to complete the project before the deadline of April 15. during the visit, LDA Chief Engineer II, Mazhar Hussain Khan briefed Amir on the ongoing development work. He said that work is progressing round-the-clock with three daily shifts, and additional machinery and manpower are also hired to complete the project in the shortest possible time.
On the occasion, DG Amir said that the project is essential for the enhanced traffic flow in the area and would also reduce overall fuel consumption. He also asked the Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency (TEPA) to work closely with the Traffic Police to devise an effective traffic management plan, saving the valuable time of citizens.

It is important to note that the Samanabad Underpass project was launched last month and will be completed with an estimated budget of PKR 2.01 billion. It will be 500 meters long, with a 5.1-metre height and 8-metre length. The dual-lane project will ease incoming traffic from Gulshan Ravi to Samanabad.
