Lahore: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) is looking to enforce sales tax on parking services in malls and plazas, a news source reported. A 16% sales tax will be imposed on parking services, and checked for compliance.
Notices were sent to 70 plazas on the instructions of PRA Chairman Javed Ahmad. Parking services identified in the correspondence include facilities in Mall of Gulberg, Liberty Market, Hafeez Centre, Pace, Liberty Tower, Emporium Mall, Doctors Hospital, Auriga Mall, Madison Square Mall, Vogue Tower, and Shaukat Khanum Hospital.

These parking services have been instructed to register with the authority within seven days. A fine of up to PKR 50,000 can be imposed in case of non-compliance.
Speaking on the matter, PRA Chairman said that indiscriminate action will be taken against all parking services that don’t pay their share of taxes.
