Lahore: The Safe Parking project is set to launch next week from the Liberty area, a news source reported. The vehicles will be issued electronic tickets at the parking spaces. A meeting took place in the headquarters of the Safe City project on the matter.
The session was chaired by Chief Operation Officer (COO) Akbar Nasir Khan. Managing Director LePark Qalb e Abbas, General Manager Operations LePark Brig (retd) Sarfaraz Ahmad, Manager IT Usman Chohan, and members of the technical team, were also part of the meeting.
The project will start next week, with the Lahore Parking Company scheduled to start giving electronic parking tickets to vehicles. Safe City Authority will provide all technical assistance to make way for a successful transition. The project is meant to provide additional security for parked vehicles, and put an end to practices of roadside extortion.
The participants said that parking spaces in the city will become safer – as a result of this Safe City project and Lahore Parking Company collaboration.
