Islamabad: The Senate Standing Committee on Interior (SSCI), led by Senator Faisal Saleem Rehman, recommended digitising the Safe City project to meet modern demands, as reported by a news source on August 30.

According to the details, the committee expressed satisfaction with the project’s effectiveness in combating crime but urged for updates during a briefing. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi highlighted that the project, initially developed by NADRA, is now managed by Islamabad Police. The committee stressed the importance of filling 38 vacant technical positions and suggested reshaping the project into a Smart City initiative.
