Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) and Turkish waste management company Albayrak will form a coordination cell, a news source reported. This cell will serve as a liaison between the two authorities – for monitoring the establishment of an ‘ideal’ cleanliness system in city.

Albayrak received the contract for the project in 2015. This sanction was awarded for a period of seven years, and is worth $8 billion. Under this contract, the Turkish company is liable to transfer its entire transport fleet and machinery to RWMC in case the government does not extend the contract.

Both RWMC and Albayrak have initiated contact with the public through their representative teams. These teams will be responsible for highlighting the significance of cleanliness in several unions of Rawalpindi.
These efforts come as part of the Clean and Green Pakistan drive being carried out in all provinces of the country.
