Lahore: In a major infrastructure push, the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) has launched the construction of a 9-kilometer expressway to seamlessly link Lahore with Ravi City through Chaharbagh. The project includes a 300-foot-wide road and a state-of-the-art, 1-kilometer-long bridge spanning the Ravi River.
RUDA Chairman Shahid Ashraf Tarar and CEO Imran Amin recently visited the project site, emphasizing that the expressway will be completed within nine months. They highlighted its role in enhancing connectivity, boosting economic activity, and improving mobility for the general public.

The expressway is set to become a key artery in RUDA’s broader development plan, which includes modern residential communities, a hydrologically revived riverfront, and sustainable urban spaces. Officials have underscored RUDA’s commitment to making Ravi City Pakistan’s first environmentally friendly and walkable metropolis.
During the visit, RUDA’s leadership commended the engineering team for their meticulous planning and execution. Chairman Tarar described the expressway as a modern-day “Grand Trunk Road,” symbolizing progress and prosperity for the region.
