Lahore: Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) CEO Imran Amin personally inspected the industrial zone to assess the impending smog season and review the measures taken to counter its growth, reported a news source on October 13.

During his inspection, Amin was briefed by ED Engineering Abdul Waheed about the strategies in place to combat smog. These measures included a comprehensive assessment of industries, leading to the implementation of vital guidelines. Among the crucial steps was the prohibition of stubble burning, restrictions on open utility carts and trucks, dust separation methods such as sprinkling, and bans on burning carbon slugs, tyres, and other industrial furnace emissions.

Amin underscored the significance of this initiative and urged the initiation of rehabilitation processes. He emphasized the realization of the vision for an Urban Forest, envisioning a cleaner atmosphere and a greener city. He reaffirmed RUDA’s commitment to setting an example and fostering a cleaner, healthier future for the city’s residents.
