Lahore: Punjab Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Minister Syed Ali Azfar Nasir was briefed on the projects of Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA), according to news published on April 19.

The minister visited the RUDA office to check the progress of the projects. He termed the RUDA projects a ‘twin city concept’ stating that it will promote urban regeneration and environmental sustainability in Lahore. He went on to say that RUDA’s conceptual rejuvenation of River Ravi will revive the socio-economic and cultural moorings where Lahore will become a new metropolitan hub.
During the visit, the minister was informed about different projects under RUDA including seven Wastewater Treatment Plants with modern infrastructure and river training works, and the construction of three barrages. RUDA officials briefed the minister on Sapphire Bay, Chaharbagh, and the Entertainment City.

Moreover, the officials informed the minister about the Central Business District (CBD) projects including the upgradation of Walton Road, induction of water harvesting wells, provision of service corridors, and remodelling of Kalma Chowk. He was informed that business projects like Grand Souk will be constructed on the land of Camp Jail and Rescue 1122 on Ferozepur Road.
