Lahore: The Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) will provide 300-acre land for establishing a new fruit and vegetable market, according to news published in the national dailies on December 16.

The news source mentioned that a delegation of the Punjab Fruit and Vegetable Arhtiyaan Association called on Provincial Minister for Agriculture Syed Hussain Jahania Gardezi to discuss setting up a new market. The minister stated that the provincial government will establish a new market on the land provided by RUDA along modern lines for fair compensation to the farmers. He went on to say that the market will operate as per international standards and will encompass the latest facilities.
The delegation has requested the government to allot 300 acres of land instead of 200 acres for the new market. The delegation has also asked the government to provide financial assistance to the Arhtis. Minister for Agriculture Gardezi assured the delegation that their problems will be resolved.

Moreover, the RUDA has a plan to allocate plots to the journalists under the Lahore Press Club Housing Scheme Phase-2 in the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project’s Phase-1. RUDA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Imran Amin mentioned that the location of the housing scheme will be determined soon.
