Lahore: Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Imran Amin mentioned that the authority has its own master plan, which is independent of any other authority, according to news published in the national dailies on January 11.

RUDA CEO Amin, while presiding over an internal meeting, shared that the authority’s master plan is not part of the Lahore Development Authority’s master plan 2050. He went on to say that the RUDA is an independent authority and has its own trajectory of progression.
The news source mentioned that the main objective of Ravi City, under the master plan, was to restore the river and strengthen the environment. He went on to say that three barrages and lakes will be constructed to increase the water level on the riverfront. The authority also plans to set up industrial, educational, and health zones.

Moreover, RUDA has finalised the initiative for installing wastewater treatment plants along with taking measures to combat smog through good industrial practices. Through these initiatives, the authority tries to mitigate the climatic effects and improve the environment.
