According to the statement issued by the department, any unlawful housing projects launched without prior clearance from the RUDA violate the RUDA Act 2020 and would be subject to legal action.
The notice went on to say that the government would follow the law and act against infrastructure built on government land. Reportedly, the RUDA has also asked the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to ban the promotion of unlawful housing schemes on mainstream media and social media platforms. It also advised the public to investigate all housing schemes to avoid fraudulent investments.
