Lahore: The authorities concerned have notified the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) as the executing authority for a project aimed at cleaning the Ravi River; in an attempt to rehabilitate its environs for recreational purposes, a news source reported.

To facilitate this measure, RUDA will set up three water treatment plants on the banks of River Ravi. Previously, the Punjab government had assigned said task to the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA).
According to the details revealed, the Babu Sabu land acquired by WASA for establishing a water treatment plant will also be transferred to RUDA. WASA had also prepared the PC-1 for these projects which had been approved by both Punjab and Islamabad.

The plants are expected to be set up at Babu Sabu, Mohlanwal and Shahdara.
