Lahore: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Sunday (March 06) said that Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) and Central Business District (CBD) are being developed for the protection of the unique environment of Lahore City, news sources reported. He said that the project is unique in its planning as it involves environment-friendly technologies.

During a review meeting of the RUDA and CBD, the premier stated that the project would increase sustainability while also utilising the dead capital for the first time in Pakistan’s history. RUDA CEO Imran Amin stated that the projects include the development of the Chahar Bagh industrial estate, water training work, Sapphire Bay, a waste-to-energy plant, and a waste treatment facility. On this occasion, Prime Minister Imran unveiled several city development projects planned to be completed by March of next year. The following projects have been announced:
- Construction of Bab-e-Pakistan history museum highlighting the development of Walton from 1900 to date
- Construction of LNG-based captive power plant
- Construction of a state-of-the-art teaching hospital in CBD-Walton
