Peshawar: The Regional Tax Office (RTO) Peshawar has quickened the pace of the tax recovery drive, a news source reported. The authority took the step following the directives of the Chief Commissioner in Land Revenue. The RTO is making use of all legal means to recover the due taxes.

As part of the drive, some defaulters have been issued arrest warrants. Immovable properties of others have also been seized. The procedure for the confiscation and auctions of these properties is underway to ensure tax recovery.
The Chief Commissioner has urged the tax defaulters to deposit their outstanding dues quickly. He has stressed on the need for paying taxes – in both national and personal interests.
He emphasised on the importance of owning Pakistan as ‘our country’, and the duty of citizens in playing their required role for its economic improvement.

The Chief Commissioner cautioned that authorities concerned will not be lenient with regard to tax recovery. Meanwhile, citizens are welcome to report their genuine issues.
