It is important to mention here that as per Section 59E of the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) Rules, RDA could only award the contract for this venture to government-run construction firms, which is why the authority has awarded the contract to Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) for PKR 22.80 billion. Under the details of the contract, FWO will develop a 38.8-kilometre-long route from GT Road Banth to Thalian Motorway Interchange in two years.
