Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Development Authority Director General Ammara Khan on Sunday revealed that the survey of Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project’s area topography, soil, and existing roads has been completed, a news source reported.

She was briefing a meeting held to review RRR’s development progress. The meeting was chaired by the Rawalpindi Commissioner Captain (retired) Muhammad Masood, who said that RRR, once completed, will help in easing traffic flow in both Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
He further said that the development work on RRR would be prioritised and ‘will not be treated like a normal project’.

In response, the RDA DG revealed that a modern e-challan system would be introduced for the ring road; further stating that the authorities concerned were considering the formation of a police force for the 64-kilometre-long project.
She said that the areas over which RRR is to be constructed have been cleared and instructions have been issued to the relevant authorities for the removal of encroachments.
