Rawalpindi: The Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) units are planned to be launched around the proposed route of the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project – which is set to have nine interchanges starting from Rawat to the Sangjani area, according to a news source published on August 25.

As per the initial blueprint of the projecet, the interchanges will be constructed at Radio Pakistan Building, Fateh Jang Road, Khasala Khurd, Kala Kotha, Chakri Road, M-14, Murat area, Sangjani and Hakla.
Moreover, two industrial zones will also be established along the RRR as well; one spanning over 1,000 acres and the other over 2,000 acres, while 700 acres will be utilised for establishing an educational zone.
Additionally, a theme park and recreational spots will be developed on 200-acres of land with some 80 acres of land planned to be utilised for the activity and community zone, and around 300 acres marked to develop a state-of-the-art health zone near the RRR.

Furthermore, three Satellite Towns will also be set up in the residential zone – while a terminal for heavy-duty vehicles will also be constructed on 110 acres of land. Also, in line with the international construction practices, the length of the ring road has been extended from 30 kilometres to 64 kilometres with the width set at 360 feet.
