As per the details, the Commissioner was informed that the 38.3-kilometre-long RRR will have five interchanges at Banth, Chak Beli Khan, Adiala Road, Chakri Road, and Thalian. Besides this, the project entails the construction of a railway bridge, five flyovers, and an impressive array of 21 small underpasses, enhancing the overall connectivity and transportation infrastructure in the region.
It is worth noting that the project’s initial construction phase commenced in the vicinity of Chakri Road, where the district administration had already secured the required land. However, the acquisition of land for other sections of the RRR has yet to commence.
Commissioner Chattha expressed optimism regarding the project’s rapid progress, confidently stating that the Rawalpindi Ring Road would be completed within a year. Furthermore, the development plan includes the establishment of an industrial zone along the Ring Road. Chattha emphasized that this industrial zone would be a catalyst for economic development and employment opportunities, benefiting the entire region.
