Rawalpindi: The authorities concerned have issued the timeline for opening bids for the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project, a news source reported. The project tenders are expected to be sold by June 30.

On the other hand, the relevant department will also issue the required work orders between July 10 and July 15 to timely start the developmental work. Sources also pointed towards the expectations of completing the RRR project within a timeframe of three years.
The RRR would begin from the Radio Pakistan office near Rawat, through the twin cities and ends at the Sangjani intersection. Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan stated that the project is not merely a road but facilitation to an entire city. He revealed that the housing projects under the Prime Minister’s Apna Ghar Initiative would also be constructed near the project.

According to details, commercial plazas will be erected on both sides of RRR route, along with industrial zones, health zones, education zones, satellite town and recreational venues. The authorities concerned will also move all goods transport, fruit and vegetable markets, and other mandis along the RRR route.
