The suggestion to bring the developers of private housing societies on board for the construction of interchanges along major road avenues in the city was first shared by the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) earlier this month. According to sources within the authority, the purpose of this collaboration is to reduce the traffic load on city roads, and to help finance the requisite infrastructural developments.
As per the details available, the proposed interchanges will be developed at the ring road’s starting point near Radio Pakistan Building on GT Road, and at the ending point on Sanjani Interchange on the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway M-2.
