Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza has revealed that the designs and feasibility studies of the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) and the Leh Expressway projects are expected to be completed in May 2020, a news source reported.

He further stated that the funds for the project’s execution would be allocated in the annual development programme for the fiscal year 2020-21. He stated that contract for preparation of the design and PC-1 for RRR had been awarded to a Swiss company named Zurich International, while the same for Leh Expressway will be carried out by the National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK).

Once these companies complete and share the feasibility studies and the PC-1 for their respective projects with the RDA, the PC-1 will be presented before the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) for its approval.

After the projects get an approval from the PDWP, these initiatives will be forwarded to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council for final approval. After that, the process to award contracts for project development will be initiated.
