Lahore: The Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) announced that the United States (US) is willing to invest in Information Technology (IT) and energy sectors of the Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project (RRUDP), according to a news story published on Wednesday (February 23).

As per the details, US Counselor for Commercial Affairs John Coronado disclosed that US companies want to invest in various sectors and are ready to start work soon. He further added that the Ravi City is a commendable project that attracts investors. RUDA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Imran Amin notified that the project will be developed on investments rather than loans. He added that the project might be included in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.

With the help of foreign investment, the industrial area will generate employment opportunities for millions of people. Reportedly, the industrial zone spreads over 3,000 acres for which Saudi investors have already signed a USD 600 million agreement. The CEO added that discussions are underway with different countries including the UAE, the UK, and Chinese investors for establishing industrial units.
