Karachi: Rotary International – a United States-based humanitarian service organisation – has decided to help build 20 smart and sustainable villages across Sindh for rehabilitation of flood affectees, according to news published on October 26.

President-elect Rotary International Gordon R Mclnally stated that Pakistan has experienced the worst impacts of climate change in terms of recent flash floods that have not been seen anywhere in the world. Talking about the villages, he mentioned that these villages will be a blueprint and the world will see this modal successful in Pakistan.

Reportedly, these villages will provide accommodation to the flood victims along with managing their economic activities. The villages will have schools for the education of children and dispensaries for health facilities. Mr Gordon mentioned that the organisation is constantly trying to improve the economic situation and lifestyle of the people with its welfare projects.
