Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday initiated its road rehabilitation work in sector D-12, according to a news sources. Previously, CDA Chairman Amer Ali had made an announcement with regard to the launch of the rehabilitation work during his visit to the said locality on Friday.
The CDA Board members, along with deputy financial advisor, director general works and relevant officials, were all present at the occasion. The CDA chief revealed that the reconstruction work was a launched on joint-venture (JV) basis between the Machinery Pool Organization (MPO) Directorate and the contractor. He instructed the Director Roads (North) to complete the residual rehabilitation of the approach of the road at earliest.

The chairman also said that the first batch of the funds had been released for the project, while the Finance Wing would allocate remaining funds to secure smooth progress of the project. The mobilisation of the machinery was ordered to fast-track the project.
The Chairman CDA instructed for immediate commencement of the re-carpeting and repair of the road furniture. Instructions regarding rehabilitation of all major roads, service lanes, markazes and class-III markets, were also issued. The contractor was ordered to begin the work on base and sub-base establishment, and the MPO Directorate was ordered to execute re-carpeting of roads.

To enhance the city at large, it was decided that CDA board members accompanied by the MCI staff, would visit three sectors per week to take notice of the needed improvements.
Further instructions were issued to coordinate with the Metropolitan Corporation’s Environment Wing to eradicate wild growth along the median stripes and green areas of the roads.
