Faisalabad: The construction work on a road network measuring 1,500 kilometres is currently underway in Faisalabad and Chiniot, a news source quoted officials of the National Highway Authority (NHA). As per the officials, the authority has already completed the construction work on a 320-km-long road network.

They said that the NHA was carrying out infrastructural development in Faisalabad and its adjoining areas on a priority basis to facilitate the industrial growth planned under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project. The Punjab government recently issued funds worth PKR 200 million for the rehabilitation of various roads in Faisalabad and Chiniot.

The NHA utilised these funds to rehabilitate Sargodha-Jhang Road, Samundari Road Satiana Road, Amenpur Bangla Road, Sudhar Bypass, Milat Barnala Road, and Jaranwala Road on an urgent basis.
Moreover, the highway authority recently prepared the PC-1 for the construction of a dual carriageway between Satiana Bypass and Jhang Road. The PC-1 has been sent to the executive for approval.
