Rawalpindi: The Punjab Planning and Development Department (PDD) has three projects, including the expansion of Ammar Chowk, on its priority list for Rawalpindi, according to a news source. These projects have an estimated cost of PKR 1,200 million.
These projects include the conversion of the road from Missile Chowk on Islamabad Highway to Falcon Chowk into a dual carriageway, the conversion of Dry Port Road to a dual carriageway, and the expansion of Ammar Chowk and the construction of a tunnel here. These projects are to be initiated as soon as the details are finalised by the Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) and Secretary Punjab Housing Department.
The project, placed second on the PDD priority list, also consists of the construction of a flyover on Ninth Avenue, which is estimated to cost PKR 200 million. Reportedly, the project design for the flyover has already been prepared by the contractor.
