Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has formally inaugurated the 10-kilometre road stretch from RahatKot to Sakhra in Matta Tehsil of Swat, according to a news source. This road is expected to be completed with an estimated sum of PKR 190 million, and will be beneficial for 95,000 locals.

During the second day of his visit to his home district, CM also laid the foundation stone of the 13-kilometre-long Barawai Irrigation Scheme, which will irrigate 551 acres of barren land in Kalakot, Asharai, Bagh Dheri and adjacent villages.

While addressing the occasion, CM Mahmood stated that the region is embarking upon a new developed era which includes all aspects of infrastructure, communication, agriculture and tourism.
He also said that the government is trying to industrialise the province and planned interventions are being executed to make it a hub of national and international transit and tourism.
