Commercial and residential building owners must obtain completion certificates after approval of their building plans. This determines if the said buildings were constructed according to the approved plans.
RMC noted that over eighty percent of owners don’t possess a completion certificate. The problem was reported to the provincial government, which has allowed to take appropriate action. RMC will be able to verify the certificates with their own records following this step.
The authority has resolved to take action against those not having obtained the certificates. But a two-week relaxation period will allow owners to obtain them.

RMC is also planning to begin the second phase of the encroachment drive in forty-six union councils. The Punjab government has directed RMC and Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to collaborate in this matter. The administrations should work to improve city areas and open parking spaces in commercial buildings according to by-laws.
The PTI government is also going to amend by-laws for creating proper parking spaces in the province’s commercial areas. Similarly, commercial areas will get more roads. This will facilitate people to build commercial buildings after having their plans approved.
