Rawalpindi: Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan on Sunday stated that the government would inaugurate the Islamabad and Rawalpindi Ring Road projects during the first quarter of Financial Year (FY) 2020-21, a news source reported.

The minister revealed that the government officially included three mega projects of the twin cities in FY2020-21. These include the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR), Ring Road Islamabad, and Suhala railway flyover crossing. He said that the executive plans to lay the foundation stone of these three projects between July and September.
Referring to the RRR project, Sarwar said that the authorities concerned had issued the timeline for the construction of the uplift scheme. He added that Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar would be the chief guest at the ground-breaking ceremony of the project.

Local MNA Sadaqat Abbasi revealed that the Suhala railway crossing flyover project would obtain official approval on June 9. He added that the Ministry of Finance has already approved the release of funds for the project, which would also serve as a tourist spot.
