Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) is awaiting approval of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan for the PKR 2 billion Revive Lahore project, news sources reported.
The “Revive Lahore” initiative is a collaborative effort of the City District Government and LDA and involves beautification of numerous roadways as well as actions against encroachment in key parts of the city. The authorities will brief the Premier on the projects to get approvals in the current fiscal year.

According to the details, the project includes the rehabilitation and construction of 29 roads. A detailed breakdown of the project specifics is as follows:
- PKR 386.1 million will be spent on the construction of three corridors in Aziz Bhatti Zone, and two corridors each will be constructed in Shalimar Wahga Zones.
- PKR 252.1 million will be spent on the construction of two roads in the Ravi Zone
- PKR 476.7 million will be spent on the construction of seven roads in the Nishtar zone
- An unspecified amount will be spent on the construction and rehabilitation of 4 roads in Smanaabad Zone and 5 roads in Data Gunj Buksh Zone

Furthermore, the administration will also rehabilitate existing roads in the city with road markings. The authority has asked for the said amount in the ongoing fiscal year 2021-22 budget.
