Islamabad: During a meeting of the Capital Development Authority (CDA)’s policy board held on May 9, it was agreed upon by the board members to hire consultants for the required revision in the master plan for the capital city for 2020-40.
Conceived and prepared by a Greek Firm Doxiadis back in the 60s, the master plan of Islamabad was meant to be revised every 20 years. This has, however, never happened in all those years and consequently, the city is now facing issues such mushroomed growth of housing societies in protected areas that were meant to be used as agro farms to meet the food-related needs of the capital city.
