Lahore: The National Highways Authority (NHA) has sent the revised PC-1 for construction of the Taftan-Quetta Road project to the Central Development Working Party (CDWP), a news source reported.

The NHA had now rationalised the cost for the construction of the ‘Naukundi-Mashkel Road (103 kms) Taftan-Quetta Road project’ at PKR 8.85 billion. The authority’s executive board has also forwarded the PC-1 for constructing a new bridge on River Chenab between Shujaabad and Khangarh.
Additionally, the NHA board has formed a committee for carrying out a study for developing a tolling model for various highways, expressways, and motorways. According to sources, the aim of this model will be to determine and revise the per kilometre toll rates on these roads.

The NHA executive board has asked the committee to submit its report and recommendations within 15 days’ time. Furthermore, it has directed to make amendments to the NHA code for covering toll rates on motorways.
