Lahore: The Punjab revenue department has announced its decision to establish 400 rural revenue centres across Punjab, a news source reported on February 16. These centres are going to issue domicile, death and birth certificates. The move to establish these centres has already been approved.

According to details, Lahore has a total of 448,496 acres of agricultural land. It also has a total of 22 qanoon-goi, 361 villages, and 217 patwar circles.
These new revenue centres across Punjab will be established at qanoon-goi level. These centres will also be provided with 5G internet service and each centre will facilitate residents of all the villages under it.

The move is expected to facilitate the residents of the rural areas who will be able to obtain domiciles, death and birth certificates without the need to visit courts and urban areas. The move is also expected to resolve issues related to lease of land in rural areas.
