Islamabad: Ministry of Housing and Works Secretary Iftikhar Ali Shallwani has directed the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) to resume the construction of Kashmir apartments in Sector G-13, according to news published on July 20.

As per the details, Secretary Shallwani and FGEHA Director General Tariq Rashid visited the project site and asked the authority to expedite the efforts to restart construction work on the apartment project, which has been suspended by the contractor because of the rise in prices of raw materials. The secretary stated that the price escalation will be verified by the Bureau of Statistics. He went on to say that the project must be timely completed without compromising quality.

Moreover, the secretary was informed that the authority is working on resolving the issue of price hike with the contractor and construction will start again after that. During the visit, the secretary also visited the project site of Bhara Kahu Green Enclave I-II projects. According to the details, 40% of the construction work has been completed. Secretary Shallwani directed the authority to complete the project in the shortest time to provide modern residential facilities to employees.
