Karachi: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), on Thursday, informed that the master plan for rehabilitation of Shahrah-e-Faisal is in its final stages, according to media reports.

The meeting was attended by Karachi Administrator Laeeq Ahmad, Works Director-General Shabiha Al Hasnain Zaidi, Coordination Senior Director Khalid Khan, Media Management SD Ali Hassan Sajid, Parks & Horticulture DG Taha Saleem, Faiz Qadwai, State SD Imitiaz Abro and other officers.
According to Karachi Administrator Laeeq Ahmed, beautification of Karachi’s major route is critical since many visitors and foreign dignitaries pass through it. As a result, it should provide a pleasant and positive picture of the city. He also stated that digital technology was used to redesign the footpaths, green belts, and signboards. Furthermore, the sidewalks will be reserved for pedestrians only, and any obstacles will be removed immediately.
Furthermore, he added that collaboration from various institutions is essential for the beautification of the city. He emphasised that the goal of the beautification drive will be achieved only if the infrastructure is in excellent operational condition. He also stated that the beautification plan is developed keeping in mind the needs of various places in mind.

During the discussion, the administrator shed light on additional measures to strengthen the city’s infrastructure. Work on repairing bridges, highways, and underpasses was also reviewed.
