Karachi: The Director General (DG) of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) Dr Badar Jameel said on Wednesday that in order to ensure that playgrounds are used only for sports activities, the department is taking steps to remove all the encroachments from community playgrounds to restore them for their original purpose, according to news sources.

He made this statement while on a visit to the KDA Sports Complex in Gulistan-e-Johar, Block-14. The DG KDA also examined the ongoing development activaties in the KDA Sports Complex.
While briefing about the KDA Sports Complex project, the Director Sports KDA Ayaz Munshi said that the development work on the jogging track, basketball court, mini-hockey stadium, tennis court and other indoor games arena is about 80% complete.

The DG KDA reaffirmed its resolve to promote sports activities through the project and through the restoration of the playgrounds, after retrieving it from encroachers.
