Karachi: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has undertaken the decision to uplift Karachi Zoo for the benefit of the visitors, especially children, according to a news source. This involves many beautification and maintenance measures such as painting animals on the boundary wall, and adding signboards containing information about the various birds, animals, and old trees in the premises.

These measures will make the zoo more appealing for families and make it a place people would regularly want to bring their children. This decision was made in a meeting of the KMC at Karachi Zoo, headed by KMC Commissioner Dr Syed Saifur Rehman. Also present were Recreation Senior Director Mansoor Qazi, Aquarium Additional Director Ismail Sikander, Deputy Director Abida, Veterinarian Dr Amir Ismail and horticulturist Zamin Abbas.

Rehman inspected the zoo and its various facilities and conducted an extensive survey. An information desk has also been set up to direct visitors about locations and to get information about lost things.
