Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Thursday announced that it had received an “impressive response” from the local business community with regard to the construction industry incentive package; further stating that about 40 projects had registered with the taxation agency in order to avail the said relief scheme, a news source reported.

It said that the drafts for more than 4,800 other projects for registration through the IRIS system were in the pipeline. Moreover, one purchaser had submitted his declaration, while another 279 were preparing drafts under IRIS system.
Both federal and provincial governments have announced a number of incentives on the purchase of plots as well as new housing units. As long as applicants meet certain requirements, FBR will not question their sources of income for investments in the construction sector.

Private builders and developers can also avail fixed tax regime and register their projects through the FBR’s IRIS system.
