Lahore: The Punjab Government has decided grant ownership rights to residents of 164 kachi abadis, according to a news report. A sub-committee formed under the steering committee set up by the Punjab Chief Minister under the chairmanship of Khawaja Ahmad Hassan has prepared its recommendations.
According to the details, Khawaja Ahmad Hassan that residents of kachi abadis will be granted ownership within the month of April. The ownership rights will be granted on the payment of 2% charges. Mayor Lahore Col. (retd.) Mubashir Javed said that Muslim and Hindu auqaf land can be leased while ownership rights can be granted for other government-owned lands.
