The residents lauded the provincial government’s decision to set up district headquarters at the Kagh Lusht Plateau. Many opined that the city had potential for becoming a positive example for the rest of the country. As of now, Booni Town has been made the temporary district headquarters for Upper Chitral.
District Nazim Maghfirat Shah stated that the city could become second only to Islamabad if the provincial government developed it following principles of modern town planning. He added that Kagh Lusht was in proximity to the Central Asian State of Tajikistan, which would encourage ease of communication with the neighbouring state.
The District Development Advisory Committee Chairman Wazir Zada revealed that he has already sent a proposal to the government for devising a plan to set up the district headquarters in Upper Chitral.
Meanwhile, several residents sited the reasons for why this was a good decision. They noted that the government should bring in solar-powered and electric water pumps for provision of abundant water for drinking and irrigation. One resident revealed that Terich Valley was going to get a hydropower generation and irrigation project soon, which was going to help resolve the water issues at the proposed district headquarters.

Other residents suggested that this move would save money as Kagh Lusht was already a state-owned property. They revealed that it was in accordance with the demand of the local people, as the city would become a hub for those coming in from nearby remote areas. They added that Kagh Lusht would also be a great tourist destination due to its various existing attractions, as well as serve as a permanent residence to those affected by natural disasters in a number of disaster-prone villages in Upper Chitral.
