Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan on Wednesday (September 15) ordered the departments and authorities concerned to resolve the reservations of landowners and earthquake 2005 affectees regarding the New Balakot City project, according to news sources.

The said remarks were made by CM Mahmood Khan, while he chaired a review meeting to check the progress of implementation of the New Balakot City project. The attendees of the meeting discussed the challenges related to the implementation of the project and decided on a future course of action to expedite the progress of the project. During the meeting, the recommendations of the committee formed under the supervision of the Hazara division commissioner were also discussed.
Moreover, the participants of the meeting considered different options for the implementation of the project, which includes government to government models and public-private partnerships. It was mentioned that the Earthquake Reconstruction & Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) and relevant provincial departments will prepare proposals and submit them to Prime Minister Imran Khan for approval.

The meeting was attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Minister for Labour and Culture Shaukat Yousafzai, Deputy Commissioner Mansehra, Commissioner Hazara, Chief Engineer New Balakot City, Director General ERRA, National Disaster Management Authority Chairman Lt-General Akhtar Nawaz, and concerned administrative secretaries.
