Islamabad: The commission formed to make Islamabad Master Plan 2040 may not be able to present its report this month, a news source reported. The deadline given to share the detailed report on the new master plan was June 27.
Reportedly, the commission hasn’t been able to hire a consultant for the purpose. The consultant’s job was to conduct a study on the existing situation of environment, traffic load, sewerage, illegal constructions, encroachments, and katchi abadis in the federal capital.

Sources claim that in the absence of a consultant, the commission won’t be able to share its report in two weeks. It is also expected that the federal commission formed for formation of Islamabad Master Plan 2040 may formally request the government this week to grant more time.

Reportedly, the commission was directed in December 2018 to form new master plan for the capital. Sources claim that since population in Islamabad has grown immensely since the 60s, the members of the commission are tenaciously looking at all aspects for making a viable new master plan.
