Lahore: A report on illegal construction activities in the city’s Wagah Zone has been submitted to the Lahore Commissioner — with 141 illegal commercial and industrial developments having been identified in the area, a news source reported. The report has also been submitted to Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) Chief Corporation Officer (CCO) Syed Ali Abbas Bukhari.

According to the report, 85 of these 141 buildings are under construction, while 56 have nearly been completed. It has been estimated that these building cost the national exchequer nearly PKR 100 million.
Of the total identified constructions, 45 are located on GT Road; 4 on Burki Road; 2 on Bheni Road; 7 on Kotli Ghass; 3 in Bilal Ganj Scheme; 1 in Maqsudpura; 8 on Bedian Road; 2 on Handoo Road; 1 on Ganga Sindhu Road; 1 on Tajgarh Road; 6 on Mominpura Road; and 2 on Ganga Sindhu Chowk.

According to Bukhari, a committee has been formed to further investigate the illegal constructions and review the situation in other zones as well.
