Islamabad: While speaking to a delegation of the city’s businessmen on Wednesday, National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee on Interior Chairperson Khurram Shahzad Nawaz stated that he would be presenting the amended version of the Rent Control Act for Islamabad before the NA’s upcoming session — a news source reported. He made these comments while addressing a meeting at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI).

The chairperson further said that the NA Standing Committee on Interior had already approved the draft of the proposed law. He also urged the business community to send him, in written form, the issues they faced when dealing with the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Police, the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), or any other government departments. He assured them that he would do his best to resolve all the highlighted problems.

Mr Nawaz additionally promised that he would try to have the ICCI President included in the committee to review the CDA’s revision of the city’s Master Plan. This move, in turn, would allow the business community’s input to also be included in the plan’s revised version.
