Islamabad: Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Sheikh Amir Waheed has demanded the upcoming government to fulfil its promise of promulgating a new rent control act within the first hundred days of coming into power, reported a news source. Waheed put his demands forth during his meeting with the newly elected office-bearers of Jinnah Super Market’s Traders Welfare Association.
Waheed also urged that Asad Umar, the expected Finance Minister of the new government, to resolve the long-standing issues of the business community. He also mentioned the ICCI’s struggle to get the new rent law and an amended bill of Rent Restriction Act passed in the National Assembly during the tenure of the previous government. The bill could unfortunately not be passed.
