Lahore: The development work on the project for renovation of Noor Jahan Road has been initiated, according to a news source. The project was inaugurated by Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique. It is estimated to cost PKR 450 million.
The project plans were prepared by the Lahore Development Authority (LDA)’s Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency (TEPA) wing. The Noor Jahan Road connects Liberty Chowk with Hussain Chowk. TEPA Director Mazhar Hussain Khan has been appointed the project director.
According to the plans, the road will have asphalt carpeting on both sides as well as on footpaths, and the existing streetlights here will be replaced with LED lights. The renovation of Noor Jahan Road has been linked with the construction and restoration of Gulberg College Road.
Reportedly, the project has been initiated on demands of the traders of the Liberty Market.
