Islamabad: Member National Assembly (MNA) Zille Huma on Saturday (October 9) announced that Melody Food Park – the only food street in the city – will be renovated at a total cost of PKR 10 million, according to media reports.

Zille Huma, while speaking at the press conference, stated that the work will commence in a few weeks. Once completed, the park will be a major attraction for the residents. She went on to say that the project will create employment opportunities for the locals. Moreover, it was highlighted that stalls of handicrafts will be set up in the park to provide employment opportunities to women.
Moreover, Secretary Food Park Mumtaz Ahmed disclosed that the food park floor requires proper cleaning to look like a dining hall. He further added that a boundary wall is necessary so people will know which stalls are in the food street. A management committee will be established under the management of the Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA).

All-Rawalpindi Restaurants Association President Chaudhry Farooq started that it is a huge development that will revive business activities in the area. It was also mentioned that the tourists who visit the capital city will taste the local food, which will promote a positive image of the country.
