Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Commissioner Noor ul Amin Mengal has directed the concerned authorities to renovate the historic Liaquat Bagh, according to a news story published on July 5.

A spokesperson of the district administration (whose name was not disclosed) mentioned that the commissioner visited Liaquat Bagh and directed Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Director General (DG) Xenia Humayun to use all available resources for the renovation of the park at the earliest. As per the details, the commissioner asked the PHA DG to get the boundary wall repainted, carry out Chakwal stonework to improve the platform and link the adjoining mosque to the park.

Moreover, Commissioner Mengal has asked the authorities to devise a beautification plan for Liaquat Bagh. He also directed the relevant authorities to release funds for the said project in order to complete it as soon as possible. Further, he asked the authorities to enlarge the board of Benazir martyrdom site to make it more visible.
