As per the plan details revealed, the government would enhance the share of renewable energy in the total energy mix by 80%. This measure would assist in avoiding the use of imported fuel as much as possible.
Minister for Power Division Omar Ayub stated that the government had devised a renewable energy plan in consultation with all stakeholders. He added that they would soon table it before the Council of Common Interests (CCI). He highlighted that Balochistan and Sindh would benefit significantly because the government would set up various solar and wind projects in both provinces as per the plan.
